Earthquake News
Just a quick post to let everyone know that we are indeed completely fine following the recent earthquake that occurred in southern Peru.
To be honest we never even knew that it had happened and we’ve only just made it in from the Sechura Desert last night. Luckily we aren’t that fast on our heavily laden bikes and haven’t reached the southern parts where the earthquake was just yet!
We’ll be updating the blog again today or tomorrow with more updates as we’re on a rest day at the mo in Chiclayo.
Thanks by the way to all of you following our journey it’s really exciting and encouraging to know that so many of you are enjoying the updates…

Glad to hear you guys are ok.
Tony L was getting ready to come down and find you
Cheers Rich. We’re just in the process of thinking about re-routing, but we’re between a rock and a hard-place literally at the mo. We had planned to go through Pisco where the earthquake hit but that may be a bad idea!
Are you aware that it is also volcano, tsunami and hurricane season? Be careful out there.
Wow… we were holding our breath! So glad that you are ok. Don’t scare us again!!! Any way you can bypass Pisco?
Miss you both.
Hi Simon,
Hope everything is going OK, Photos look great. Keep safe.
Mark
Will do
More photos coming shortly, about to start next leg to Lima.
Love all your comments, descriptions and photos. Almost like reading an adventure story. Hope you’re saving all the writings for future publication. Also like the humour. Look forward to the next posting. Take care both of you. XXX
If it wasn’t the earthquake, Plums, can you explain how you got that massive crack in your arse?
Same way as you got yours!!! You have to think about that one don’t you!!!
Hello Tamsin!
HI Good people
I reloc the smaller TV downstairs alongwith by exercise bike so I could feel in a limited way the effects of sharing pain. Iwas only good for 4 MINS or so. I don’t know how you can do it Your trip around the desert a high degree of mental strength andcourage. Your efforts to date have been recognised by the Spartans 300 0f them who died holding their small force against the Persian Army. And when the going gets tough,remind yourselves of James Elroy Flecker poem which I hand to you ;
WE ARE THE PILGRIMS MASTER, WE SHALL GO ALWAYS A LITTLE FURTHER. IT MAY BE BEYOND THAT LAST BLUE MOUNTAIN BARRED WITH SNOW :ACROSS THAT ANGRY OR THAT GLIMMERING SEA. WE TAKE THE ROAD TO WHEREVER. Have been summonded to the table.
Trust all is going well for you both.
Lots of love All the Way Dad.
